Dutch government considers rise in pension age
Austin News.Net Saturday 19th July, 2008
Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner has said the government might consider raising the retirement age to 70.
The minister has said a recent recommendation to set it at 67 might not be enough.
He gas said the change to 67 by the year 2040 would probably be insufficient for the government to cope with the soaring cost of the country's ageing population.
A government commission recommended gradually implementing the rise in retirement age from the year 2016.
The minister now says the proposed change will fall short of what is required because, by 2040, life expectancy is likely to have increased by ten years.

Dutch government considers rise in pension age
Old age is a basket of knowhow that people should not retire as long as the person is productive and contribute to the society as a whole. Never over estimate the knowledge of the old generation. An age cheese is must better than a young cheese and they more take pride of thier accomplishment than the younger one.Bear in mind they are the basket of knowledge and respect them as you will be an old person in the future.
