The phrase "walking on airamp;" has taken on a new meaning on the internet after a Texas cheerleader nailed the "invisible boxamp;" challenge.

American Ariel Olivar shared a mind-blowing video on Friday in which she appears to pat and then step over an invisible box, according to Time.

The clip garnered over 22000 likes and over 112000 retweets in two days.

The premise of the challenge is to "stepamp;" onto the "boxamp;" with one foot then "stepamp;" over it with the other, creating the illusion of a solid object.

The challenge has taken the internet by storm, but not everyone has been as successful as Ariel.

Other videos show internet users hilariously stumbling over their feet.

Olivar said to the Houston Chronicle: "The video was my third time trying it. I just keep the leg in the same exact spot. It's actually kind of challenging keeping it there. The technique is to bring the one leg higher than the other as if you're actually stepping over a box.amp;"

The trick isn't new to the internet and has been circulating on Reddit since 2014.

It appears that fitness is a key ingredient in beating the challenge, according to Men's Health fitness editor Ebenezer Samuel.

The leg that's stepping on the box uses a great deal ofhip flexor, glute and core stability.

"All [the] hip stabilisers on the right side are firing on overtime to hold that hip in position, amp;" he said.

"You'll notice [the] body rotates towards the leg on the 'step' as well. There's a ton of oblique and ab stability maintaining that position.amp;"

But the moving leg that hops forward faces a greater challenge. "Very explosive hip flexor, abdominal and glute strength is what is driving the leg up and over the 'box',amp;" Ebenezer said.

Other viral trends include the planking challenge, in which participants must lie facedown in odd locations, and the cinnamon challenge in which participants must eat a spoonful of ground cinnamon in under 60 seconds.
