CHARLOTTE - The Panthers on Saturday filled the three open slots on their 53-man roster by adding three players already with the club.
Carolina activated wide receiver Keith Kirkwood from the reserve/injured list. The club also signed defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton and defensive end Austin Larkin from its practice squad.
Kirkwood suffered a clavicle injury that kept him out for most of training camp and the first few weeks of the regular season. He was designated to return in Week 4 and has now been activated before the end of his 21-day practice window. In his third season out of Temple, where he played under head coach Matt Rhule, Kirkwood has caught 13 passes for 209 yards with a pair of touchdowns in his NFL career.
Carolina activated Hamilton from the practice squad for the Week 2 matchup against Tampa Bay. In 13 snaps, he recovered a fumble and had a tackle. Since entering the league in 2016 as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss, Hamilton has played three career games.
Larkin signed with the Panthers in August after the Falcons waived him at the start of the month. He appeared in two games for Atlanta last season, playing 10 defensive snaps and 26 special teams snaps.
The Panthers had three vacancies on their 53-man roster after placing defensive tackle Kawann Short and defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos on IR and offensive lineman Tyler Larsen on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
